Dr. Jill Kunzman

Optometrist

Dr. Jill Kunzman is a well-established and very respected optometrist that strives to help every patient to her fullest ability. Dr. Kunzman grew up on a farm near Hartley, Iowa. She graduated from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School in 1995. She went on to do her undergraduate studies at Southwest Minnesota State and then continued her optometric education at Michigan College of Optometry. She received her bachelor's of Vision Science and graduated with honors as a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) in 2002.

Upon graduation, she was happy for the opportunity to return home to northwest Iowa and start her career with Dr. Allen Jones. In 2011, she transitioned to a new role, owner of Sibley Eye Care, and continued to expand her eye care services and locations in the area. Adding an additional office in Hartley, Iowa, she was able to extend her care to surrounding communities. This additional location allowed her to open and upgrade her vision therapy services—a specialty in high demand for the region.

In 2016, life pushed Dr. Kunzman to find answers and provide assistance for people battling brain injuries and head trauma. This much-needed expansion greatly enhanced Dr. Kunzman’s knowledge and services to now include syntonic (light) therapy and the multisensory rehabilitation program, better known as "Trilogy," in our office.

Dr. Kunzman has a special calling and passion for helping patients that are struggling. Her continued education and specialized training in vision therapy and neuro-rehabilitation has allowed her the ability and privilege to see and evaluate cases with a different perspective. Where others may see roadblocks, Dr. Kunzman sees opportunities to heal and help improve patients’ lives and outcomes through a variety of individualized treatment options.

Dr. Kunzman loves her life and her career, and this is evident to all who meet her. She is not only a dedicated optometrist and owner of a successful business, but a wife and mother as well. She married her high school sweetheart, Chad, in 2002. They have been blessed with two children, Abigail and Grant. Abby is currently at the University of Iowa studying human physiology on a pre-med path. Grant is a high schooler at HMS who is active in baseball, basketball, and golf.

Dr. Kunzman’s life is full as she gives much of her time and talents to her church and community organizations as well. Free time is often spent with friends and family and living every moment of life to the fullest. When possible, Dr. Kunzman loves to travel with her family to unwind and recharge with warm weather, water, and beaches.
